Disqualified driver drove to work

SEEING a car driven in Gwennap in the early hours, a police officer recognised the driver as someone who had been disqualified.

Jason Andrew Ross, 33, of Carn View Estate, Gwennap, Redruth, admitted at Truro Magistrates' Court to driving while disqualified on July 9, driving without insurance and with an inappropriate licence.

Alison May, for the CPS, said he was further disqualified in April for driving while disqualified and had three previous convictions for similar offences in 2003.

His solicitor Rob Eccleston said he had taken his wife's car to drive to work because he was running late. It had now been sold.

Ross was given a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for a year, and put under curfew from 7pm to 7am for 12 weeks, further disqualified for nine months and until a test has been passed.
