Two men have been hit by debris from a dislodged stable while driving a recycling lorry in Goonhavern this morning.

Fire crews have cleared debris from the road opposite New Perran Holiday Park, Goonhavern, after a stable blew over and trapped two recycling officers.

The Perranporth and Newquay crews were called at 10am this morning to attend the incident.

Fortunately the recycling officers were not hurt and no other injuries have been reported.

The Met Office has issued an amber warning for rain and gale force winds in Cornwall and the South West today.

People are being advised to take care while travelling.

It is predicted that the stormy weather will ease early tomorrow morning.
