Devon and Cornwall police facing more budget cuts
Comments (8)

DEVON and Cornwall Police face having to save around £30 million over the next four years because of cuts in government funding.

This figure is in addition to the £51 million the force has already had to save, leading to the loss of 400 officers.

The force declined to comment ahead of the central funding announcement, which is due next week.

Merging its major crime team with the Avon and Somerset, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire police was discussed but has been ruled out for the time being.

Special Branch officers from the five South West forces already pool resources and work together and Devon and Cornwall has begun examining areas of collaboration with Dorset Police.

Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Hogg is set to ask for a 2% rise in the police's share of the council tax in an attempt to protect services.

Devon and Cornwall Police said its budget had not yet been finalised and "all areas of working were being examined in order to make savings".

Apologies for posting thrice, yet my Internet connection was a bit iffy so it took that time to look as though once, although the Herald site would seem to draw advertisements and content from many sources, some of which may be based in the USA as a cheaper option. Incidentally, with respect to my last postings, although Freemasonry and Church of Scientology (Scientology, Dianetics) are proven to be pyramid suicide cults, the solution is known and thus they have already lost. Given two Herald Editor's have departed company, the Freemasonry line on the new Editor would be that if they continue to shuffle Freemasons on my bequest then all that happens is a young more inept person will be promoted too soon; the Church of Scientology (Scientology, Dianetics) would take the line that the days of an old system set in stone are gone – although they would only do this in order to psychologically torture their older members as an attempted cull and manipulation and extortion of money. However, the current Editor of the Herald, in times gone by 'The Evening Herald' as both respect to their other halves lost over years and wars, and a gentle reminder how the paper always had the best news from the 'other side' – the politics of London, a title which has since been dropped and shortened, seems to be intent on scuppering the newspaper, perhaps as an attempt in vanity to re-tell the story of his god of money, yet has failed to respond to any criticism or comment laid at his door to such an extent one must believe he doesn't read his own newspaper. Seems that he has answered the criticism laid at his door by attempting to change the outlook of the paper with a false voice of, "the systems of society are on the brink of collapse, the police seem powerless to act, what we need is a champion to"; surely that's Mr Tony Hogg not Freemasonry nor Church of Scientology (Dianetics, Scientology) which are probably collapsing up their own arts, although I picked up litter in Plymouth City Centre this afternoon, littering is an offence although no need to worry as I placed the offending articles in the bin, which was Dianetic's, a suicide cult which pretends to "cast its net wide and reel in all those who are of a similar mind" as a thin-front to Scientology suicide cult methodologies, marketing material which has the cheek to state "what is the barrier to progress, what is stopping you fulfilling your potential" it's you, Dianetics, your system is a sham. Although Prosper Ascent are looking quite dodgy too. Anyway, we look forward to the return of Claire Petulengro's astrological column online. A∴A∴ Argenteum Astrum

Good. I've lost all sympathy with our so called Police Service. During the thirteen years of the Blair/Brown Government, money was thrown at them right, left and centre. Did it improve the police service? No it did not, towards the end of that Labour Government, two Labour Home Secretaries declared the police service to be "unfit for purpose" and proposed reforms and modernisaion, this view was supported by a third Labour Home Secretary, although she did not actually say it. The reforms and modernisation were vigorously resisted, mostly by the upper echelon of senior officers through ACPO the Chief Police Officers Association to protect their own careers. So now they are having their budgets cut. I'm all in favour of this, if they can't afford the fuel for their cars, it's just possible we may see police constables walking the beat again, dealing with minor crime and minor criminals, which might, just might, if the judicial system does its' job properly, prevent minor criminals going on to commit more serious crime. We seriously need to consider getting rid of this out dated system of individual Constabularies and develope one National Police Service. We also need, as was suggested in a letter to the Herald, Have Your Say column recently, to get rid of all these Police Federation people, put them back on the beat or sack them.

Freemasonry is proven to be a suicide cult. Church of Scientology (Scientology, Dianetics) is proven to be a suicide cult. Both have little to offer apart from fraud, brain-washing, hypnotism, and psychological torture; don't give them any money because they'll probably just hire more people to harass me. Both operate by attempting to create an imaginary characterisation in the subconscious which causes schizophrenic-like symptoms, and attempt to control this as a 'go-cart, go-do, or vehicle' to promote their false sales and marketing pitch against another individual's will and attempt to pattern psychological response through hypnotising a pre-set story at high-speed which eventually wears off although is a considerable waste of time to everybody. It is well known that both Freemasonry and Church of Scientology are proven to be pyramid marketing suicide cults that would rather psychologically torture individuals who raise objection to their lines or criticise their suicide cult methodologies, and attempt to hypnotise them into becoming thieves, rapists, murderers, pedophiles, in an effect to prove the dissenter or trouble-source wrong to raise objection or criticise or attempt to prove that they are somehow their 'god' in go-do dodo money. The only thing Hoggface is worried about,is concealing all the corruption in the police force.I've found a few sickening 'incidents',which all simiarly seem to be brushed under Hogger's carpet, just like they were swept under the IPCC's carpet. Some of the incidents I've read are truly disturbing.
