The man found dead at a property in Carlyon Close, Truro on Tuesday has been named locally as Callum Rice.
Tributes, in the form of more than two dozen balloons tied to trees, appeared in Furniss Island in the city centre last night.
Messages to the 23-year-old written on the balloons include 'Callum Rice: We love you'.
Police were called to the property at 11.45am on Tuesday morning after reports a body had been found.
Officers and an ambulance attended the scene, and police confirmed at the time they did not believe it to be suspicious.
A spokesman for the force today said inquiries into the death are continuing in line with the coroner's wishes.
