The naked body of a man has been found washed up on Perranporth beach.
The body was spotted in the water by a female dog walker.
Police were called to the beach at approximately 2pm where the body was found a few yards away from the front of the Watering Hole pub.
Eyewitnesses have said that the body appeared to be completely nude.
The beach has been closed and police and ambulance staff are at the scene.
Duty sergeant from Truro police station David Cook said: “We have had a body wash up on the beach of a male person and at this time we are making enquiries as to his identity.”
John Longmate, from Perranporth, was on the beach at about 12pm.
He said: “I saw a rucksack half buried, filled with sand and I just thought it was washed up on the beach but it could have been something.”
