Cornish Pirates boss Ian Davies makes five changes to his side for the game in South Yorkshire against Doncaster Knights tonight (7.45pm) in the RFU Championship, writes Dick Straughan.

After back to back defeats against Bristol and Newcastle Falcons respectively Davies will expect his side to return to winning ways against a Knights side who have lost on all four league outings so far.

Fit-again Matt Evans returns to the side wearing the full-back jersey with Kieran Hallett reverting to fly-half in place of Aaron Penberthy. On the wing, Tom Kessell takes over from Wes Davies who injured his back against the Falcons.

Summer signing Alex Cheesman is also included in the three-quarter line in place of Junior Fatialofa who drops to the bench.

Gavin Cattle will lead the side from scrum-half while in the pack, hooker Jack Yeandle and flanker Joe Buckle make their first starts in the competition. The only other change up front sees Laurie McGlone return to the side at No8 in place of Ben Maidment.

The bench sees a five-two split in favour of the forwards, with Exeter Chiefs dual-regger Dave Ewers included.

Doncaster Knights: Dante Mama, Dougie Flockhart, Will Simpson, James Tincknell, Tyson Lewis, Jamie Lennard, Chris Hallam, Tom Davies, Rhys Buckley, Brian McGovern, Phil Hoy, Matt Challinor(c), Adam Kettle, Dave Bradford, Chris Planchant. Replacements: Andy Brown, Ben Sowery, Jerry Cronin, Dom Parsons, Andy Boyde, Louis Silver, Tom Barrett.

Cornish Pirates: Evans, Bedford, Riley, Cheesman, Kessell, Hallett, Cattle (capt); Storer, Yeandle, Paver, Lyons, Johnson, Morgan, Buckle, McGlone. Replacements: Andrew, Elloway, Joyce, Burgess, Ewers, Penberthy, Fatialofa.
