WALKING on hot coals is not what most teenagers think of doing on a Saturday night – but that is exactly what one Sir James Smith’s Community School student is aiming to attempt.

Year 9 student, Alex Ferguson, is to attempt a firewalk on in aid of the MS Society, as his mother Kirstie Ferguson suffers from the condition.

Daredevil Alex is to walk over 20 feet of burning coals at Bowood Park Golf Club, Camelford, at 7pm.

Those wishing to sponsor him for his brave deed can do so via the website http://www.justgiving.com/AlexFerguson9

Over 20 people have already signed up to take part in the firewalk, and the evening’s entertainment includes Camelford Town Band, musician Josh Curnow and a disco.

There will also be craft stalls and a Christmas prize draw.

The entertainment starts at 7pm and tickets, at £10 per head including buffet, can be purchased from Kirsty Ferguson on 01840 213638 or Bowood Park on 01840 213017.
