CORNWALL has an exciting new addition to its events calendar.

Creation Fest has been described as "a free Christian festival for the whole community" and with rock bands, children's entertainers, skateboard facilities, rappers, acoustic café, seminars and film showings its certain to draw thousands to the Royal Cornwall Showground.

This year's event takes place from Saturday to August 13.

Among the musicians booked to appear at Creation Fest '10 are New Zealand's Parachute Band, South Africa's Brenton Brown and USA's Scott Cunningham who will join well-known UK Christian music acts like [dweeb], Lz7, Shell Perris, Verra Cruz, Philippa Hanna, thebandwithnoname, [crave], Superhero and the Rend Collective Experiment, and many more.

There will be a dedicated youth venue called The Zone – a place where 12 to 19-year-olds can come for great teaching, worship, seminars and workshops. And for children there will be a kids' holiday club, not to mention the ever popular bouncy castles.

The skate park will be open to the public throughout Creation Fest, so bring your skateboard, BMX or roller blades. The Big Move Skate Contests will take place during the festival. The team will be running skate demos, clinics and workshops during the festival. Pro skater Jud Heald will be returning for Creation Fest 2010.

There will be a full programme of sports and activities throughout Creation Fest, including football, rugby, frisbee, basketball, rounders and more.

Plus legendary California pro surfer Joey Buran will be premiering his new movie Beyond The Dream.

The film is an inspiring biographical documentary of Buran, tracing his humble origins in Carlsbad, California to his rise as one of the sport's greatest athletes. The premiere will be on Saturday at 8pm.
