A COW made a dash for freedom this morning when it escaped its field near Redruth.
The rogue cow made its way past Trickys at the Tolgus Inn on the Illogan road around 8.30am, before being rescued by a local farmer.
It is understood the cow caused some traffic disruption this morning while cars tried to manoeuvre past it.
Olivia Whitbread, receptionist at Trickys, said cows would normally escape into the hotel’s car park but it was unusual for one to get as far as the road.
“One cow made its way along the road earlier this morning,” she said. “The farmer has been out and we think he got the cow back into the field, but it’s just unusual for one to get as far as the road.
“There’s a field behind the hotel that has sheep and cows in it.”
