It is time to dust off those board-shorts and start lathering up in sun cream as Cornwall is set to experience a day of soaring temperatures.

According to the Exeter-based Met Office, the county can expect temperatures to peak at a Mediterranean 19 degrees, hotter than European holiday spots Athens, Barcelona and Rome.

Despite the flat surf, businesses are anticipating an influx of tourists looking to make the most of the fine weather.

But forecasters are warning sun worshipers to stay safe as ultra violet levels will reach 6 out of a possible 10 on the UV index.

Sadly the fine weather is set to be short lived.

Experts have said that cloud coverage will make tomorrow feel cooler, and scattered showers, wind and reduced temperatures are set to end the heat-wave on Monday.

West country weather ok but not a patch on the good weather in the SE,one or two days half decent weather down here and you start comparing it to Mediterranean countries, stop insulting our intelligence with your misleading reporting.
