The winner of Cornwall’s Master Chef competition hopes he has all the right ingredients to raise money for a St Austell charity helping the homeless and vulnerable this Christmas.
Adam Gerrish, who was born in St Austell and is sous chef at Boscundle Manor, has teamed up with the hotel’s manager Sharon Parker to serve some festive cheer for clients to St Austell Community Kitchen (STAK).
The award-winning chef is offering the menu, which won him the top competition, with a £5 donation for every meal served being given to STAK.
Mr Gerrish won the title last month after beating off fierce competition and impressing leading professionals from across the region.
He said: “It was a tough eight weeks of competition but I had great support from my head chef here at Boscundle Manor. I still can’t believe I won this title.
“Now it would be lovely to give local people the opportunity to taste Cornish cooking at its best and also help people less fortunate than ourselves.”
Mr Gerrish the offer will run until the end of January and he is hoping people will get behind the idea and support it.
