A TRURO woman won £2,000 in a fundraising lottery for a Cornish charity.

Cornwall Hospice Care's Christmas lottery raised more than £44,000 with ticket sales up by 12,000 this year.

Stars from the Hall For Cornwall pantomime drew the winning tickets at the hospice shop on Lemon Quay.

A woman from Truro, who did not want to be named, took the first prize of £2,000.

Sarah Vincent, the charity's lottery team leader, said: "It is amazing the level of support we have received for this year's draw.

"I would like to thank the people of Cornwall for their generous support – it never fails to astound me, even in these tough times. People still recognise that their local adult hospice needs their help."
