Cornwall on flood alert

FLOOD warnings have been issued for coastal areas across Cornwall as heavy rain and strong winds are expected to hit the county in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Cornwall Council has warned of potential flooding in Penzance and Newlyn, Flushing and St Gluvias, Mevagissey, Looe and Polperro.

The Environment Agency has issued flood alerts for both the North and South coast and a flood warning for the South West coast.   

The worst of the weather is due to pass by 8am tomorrow morning but more bad weather is expected to hit over the weekend.
