The Cornwall Coroner’s office has confirmed it is investigating the death of Callum Rice, whose body was found at a property in Carlyon Close, Truro on Tuesday.
An inquest is expected to be opened once a post mortem, believed to be taking place today, has been completed.
Friends and family members paid tribute to Mr Rice by tying more than two dozen balloons messages to a tree in Furniss Island, Truro, on Wednesday evening.
Messages to the 23-year-old former Truro College pupil written on the balloons included 'Callum Rice: We love you'.
Police were called to the property at 11.45am on Tuesday morning after reports a body had been found.
Officers and an ambulance attended the scene, and police confirmed at the time they did not believe it to be suspicious.
