THE man responsible for helping to set up a new organisation to provide community health services in Cornwall has accepted a new post as chief operating officer at Derriford Hospital.
Kevin Baber helped over 18 months the formation of Peninsula Community Health which took over from Adult Community Health Services.Peninsula
Community Health, a not-for-profit community interest company, is the provider
of community-based health services to adults in Cornwall and the Isles of
Scilly and provides NHS services through
community hospitals, Minor Injuries Units and Community Nursing Teams.
Mr Baber will be handing over the reigns to a new chief executive some time this spring. PCH said that the challenge of transition had evolved into the strategic management of a well-structured, sustainable Community Interest Company.
Michael Williams, Chair of PCH, said: "During his time in Cornwall, Kevin has been instrumental in leading the transition of community services to a community interest company and has made great strides in securing the place of PCH in the health and social care system in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly.

Kevin has always ensured that safety and quality has been our number one priority and this will continue to be the PCH focus.
