A COUPLE from Bodmin say they have received the best Christmas present they could have wished for – the safe arrival of their baby boy.
Blaize Gleeson was born at the Royal Cornwall Hospital at 8.08am on Christmas Day weighing 7lb 6oz.
His proud mum Dominique had awoke with contractions at her Bodmin home just a couple of hours earlier.
She was taken to the hospital by a family member.
She said: “It’s all so much to take in still. It happened so fast.
“I had to wake everybody up on Christmas Day. We left at around 5.30am and by ten past eight he was here.
“My contractions were every four minutes during the journey to the hospital.”
Blaize’s proud dad is Stevie G Mallett, 21. Blaize joins his big brother, eight-year-old Shane Owen Gleeson.
Dominique, of Valley Gardens, said their little family was now “perfect”.
“All I can say is that it’s the best Christmas present ever,” she said. “Our little family is perfect.”
St Ives mum Kelly Robinson also gave birth on Christmas Day to twins Luke and Zach.
Luke was born at 12.04am, weighing in at 5lb 11oz.
He was soon followed by his younger brother Zach at 12.24am, who weighed in at 5lb 15oz.
