Children get crafty for Redruth art group

DOZENS of children have gathered in and old chemist shop to launch a new heritage based art workshop.

Not for profit company Tough Dough has unveiled its new art project, Second Bite, at the old Boots store on Fore Street, Redruth last Tuesday. 28.

Children and adults worked throughout the morning with Tough Dough artists Lizzie Black and Alessandra Ausenda to create a large woodland scene which can be viewed.in the shop window.

Second Bite, which is funded by the Arts Council, FEAST Cornwall and Redruth town council, aims to increase awareness of Cornish food and produce local sustainability, healthy eating and the heritage and history of Redruth.

Mrs Black said: “We are really excited about working in Redruth, the response from groups, food businesses and other organisations so far has been terrific. We are working with Krowji to develop links with other organisations and groups in the town to ensure maximum benefit to the area.”
