A car full of adults and children had to be pulled free from a river ford.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said a car full of people became stuck in a ford near Legonna, Newquay.

A spokesman said there were five people in the car in total including children.

Firefighters were called to the incident shortly after 5.30pm and used a winch to pull the car free from the ford.

Nobody was thought to have been injured in the incident.
