A quantity of cash and an expensive ring were stolen during a broad daylight burglary at a house in Bude last week.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which occurred at a property in Penny Lane at around 3.10pm on Monday, January 14.

Police said the offender gained entry to the premises by smashing a double-glazed window with a hammer.

Officers said the offender then carried out an untidy search before stealing the ring and sum of cash.

The ring is an 18 carrot white gold five stone diamond ring with a foreign hallmark.

Police said the offender, who was seen to ride off on a bicycle, is described as being a white man aged in his 20’s, approximately 6ft in height, of slight build and wearing jeans and a beany hat.

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting police reference BU/13/28.
