Camelford have pulled off a local football coup by signing Plymouth Argyle goalkeeping legend Romain Larrieu.
The popular former Greens custodian is set to to make his debut for the Camels at home to Torpoint Athletic on Saturday in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League premier division.
Camels manager Reg Hambly said the 37-year-old Frenchman had signed as cover for first choice goalkeeper Josh Colwill, who is unavailable for much of this month.
Larrieu made more than 300 senior appearances for Argyle after joining them in 2000 and established himself as a big crowd favourite.
In September 2011 he was appointed first team player-coach to caretaker manager Carl Fletcher following the departure of manager Peter Reid.
When Fletcher was given the Argyle job on a permanent basis in May 2012, Larrieu became assistant manager, a role he continued in when John Sheridan was appointed as manager.
Larrieu was released by Argyle in May and is still hoping to return to the professional game.
