A POLICE roadside search of a vehicle near Bodmin prompted an investigation with three people charged with a number of offences involving monies totalling £35,000 and more than 3,000 Euros.
Philip John Clowes, aged 29, of Harriet Row, Stray Park Road in Camborne, was charged with eight offences of concealing, disguising, converting, transferring or removing criminal property, namely euros, and sterling by Western Union transfer, deposits into bank accounts, the purchase of holidays and goods, and cash for a holiday in Turkey.
Vicky Jane Murphy, aged 28, of the same address, was charged with three similar offences under the Proceeds of Crime Act and one of acquiring, using or possessing criminal property.
Wesley James Watton, aged 31, of Chester, was charged with four similar offences and one of acquisition.
The offences were alleged to have taken place between 2007-2012.
All three appeared before Truro Magistrates Court on Thursday last week and were represented by solicitors who indicated not guilty pleas. The case was adjourned to June 27 at Truro Crown Court. Unconditional bail was granted.
