A YOUNG motorcyclist from Camborne has died less than a week after his vehicle collided with a car just outside Helston.

Michael Harrison, 23, died in hospital at about 10pm on Friday. His family were with him.

Mr Harrison had sustained what police described at the time as life-threatening injuries in the accident at the junction of the A3083 and Gunwalloe Road, close to RNAS Culdrose, at about 10.30pm on July 20.

He was airlifted to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, by a search and rescue helicopter from the air station.

Police said the collision involved a Honda Jazz, driven by a woman in her seventies, and a Yamaha YBR 125. Any witnesses to the collision are asked to call police on 101, quoting log 1158 of 20/07/13.
