AS gale force winds and torrential rain batter the county, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service has been tackling incidents across the region.

A total of 17 appliances from all over the county have been called out to deal with weather related incidents.

And there seems to be no let up yet, as the poor weather settles in for the evening.

A run down of today's call outs are as follows:

*Fire crews from Newquay have stabilised a conservatory that was in danger of blowing away and into near-by properties.

*Up county in Liskeard the roof has blown off a conservatory and a neighbouring wall has collapsed onto the pathway.

*Over in Connor Downs firefighters removed loose roof tiles that were in danger of crashing to the pavement.

*Meanwhile a branch had blown into cables and a fire crew from Falmouth were investigating.

*Firefighters from Fowey and St Austell were mobilised at around 4.15pm to rescue a horse that had fallen into a ditch.
