THE LEADER of Cornwall Council is to face a vote of "no confidence" tomorrow.

More than 41 Cornwall councillors have signed a petition seeking to remove Alec Robertson over the shared services row.

A spoof video has been uploaded to youtube called 'The Morning Before' by 'TheBunkerCC'

The YouTube contributor has produced a series of tongue-in-cheek videos about the inner circle of Cornwall Council - including one from the day Jim Currie resigned as deputy leader:

And 'The Leadership Crisis, A True Story... ish' in which even the West Briton newspaper gets a mention.

If Robertson gets a majority vote of no confidence, members will vote on a new leader.

Cornwall Council confirmed that there will be an extraordinary council meeting on October 16 following the motion from those members who signed the petition.

The meeting will be webcast live from www.thisiscornwall.co.uk from 10am.

*****y tonight Trevorrow, hey ho nothing new there then is there? Whats up old dear eaten an iffy Ginsters and got the collywobbles have we? Where did I mention Nationalism? What I was expressing concern at is the ongoing inability of the Governing clique and the minions who are highly paid to implement Council policy to deliver good governance to those who pay for this basic service, this is a basic requirement any where in the UK not just locally. Are you trying to tell me that you approve of the endless malarkey that continues to emanate from Cornwall Council then Trevorrow or maybe you tread the same pavement as the man who faces a vote of no confidence on the morrow. I am open minded who wins, whoever it is I expect them to shake their feathers and get cracking to put our Council back on an even keel pretty darn quick.

by way of information....the poster known as gurnards head would worship the ground Mr Lavery walked on if his views coincided with her own cornish nationalist policies.

What a brilliant incisive bit of satire, the arch kremlinologists must be chewing the expensive carpet with rage within Lys Kernows executive bunker. Seriously this is a wake up call... whoever emerges victorious from this distasteful fiasco needs to get a grip and start delivering transparent good governance to the long suffering people of Cornwall who will be paying for this travesty along with several other serial bloopers for some time to come whether they like it or not. It is to be sincerely hoped in the wake of the confidence vote that the Chief Executive of Cornwall Council is also called to account in very short order because failure on the scale he has presided over can be bought for a lot less than 200k+ per year.

obviously another half baked commie had enough state sponsered time on his/her hands to cobble together this crass little entertainment....anyone who has the serious task of balancing the couty's books can expect this treatment.....but that won't be a lib dem who can only offer bigger debt and council taxes while pointing the blame elsewhere.

@RNASDutch "... majority of Cornwall Councillors decided the best way forward was to have a competent and experienced businessman continue to lead Cornwall Council." And I am sure they will find one .... as soon as Robertson has been removed

What will be most interesting and revealing on this Lib Dem supporting Pravda type newspaper is will they run the spoof victory U tube when Alec Robertson continues as the Leader of Cornwall Council. I can see the headlines now. "Council Leader in surprise vote win. Despite all the efforts of the West Briton, the majority of Cornwall Councillors decided the best way forward was to have a competent and experienced businessman continue to lead Cornwall Council. This has shocked many of our readers, who thought everyone had forgotten the Newquay Airport fiasco under the Lib Dems, who had forgotten the Unitary authority forced upon us by the Lib Dems, and who had forgotten that the Lib Dem leader at County hall had to be taken before the courts to be forced to pay his Council tax." The West Briton is still firmly behind the campaign to change the Leader of Cornwall Council, and as an aside we totally reject all these spurious allegations against one of our great national heroes Sir Jimmy Saville, who we have always supported. And the West Briton wonders why its circulation is dropping like a stone. Look in a mirror Oh Great Editor. The reason is thyself.
