Bude & North Cornwall’s golfers stayed on course to retain the CAW Cornwall Bowl trophy with a 4-1 quarter-final win over Tehidy Park at St Enodoc on Sunday.
They now take on Bowood Park, who defeated Porthpean 4-1 at Trevose, in the semi-finals over the weekend of February 8/9, at a venue yet to be determined.
The other semi-finals sees Carlyon Bay take on Trethorne.
Bay reached the last four with a 4-1 over Lanhydrock at Looe, while Trethorne won by the same margin against Mullion at Newquay.
In Sunday’s Perranporth Open Winter foursomes quarter-finals, holders, father and son Alistair and Sam Chivers from the host club, came safely through, beating Falmouth’s Roger Fairburn and Mark Fairburn 3&1.
And in the semi-finals they will take on another Perranporth father and son pair in Dick Perkins and son Simon, who defeated county stalwarts Ian Veale and Pete Simmons (Tehidy Park) two up.
In the other half of the draw, Carlyon Bay professional Paul Turpin and amateur clubmate Dave Saget defeated the only other professional left in the field, Richard Sadler of Killiow, and partner Kim Mundy 2&1.
They will now play John Pease and Kevin Brenton after they edged out Trevor Stevens and Mike Richards one up.
The semi-finals take place on Sunday February 9.
