Brave swimmers take Christmas Eve plunge in Penzance

BRAVE swimmers plunged into Penzance Harbour today for a festive dip.

Organiser Tina Riggall said around 20 people took part in the Christmas Eve swim, and added they “were in for about 10 minutes” before going to the pub to warm up.

They all got in at midday and Miss Riggall simlpy described the cold temperatures as “very refreshing”.

“It went really well actually,” she added. “It was good - a lot of people came along.”

She also said it was a great way to wake up for Christmas, and explained that it got her ready for the oncoming celebrations.

“It's prepared me for tomorrow,” she said. “It was a good dip - people enjoyed it.”
