A bodyboarder had to be rescued in St Agnes last night after getting into difficulty in the water.
The woman in her fifties had got caught in a rip current and pulled out of sight of the beach.
St Agnes Inshore Lifeboat and a coastguard rescue team were called to Trevaunance Cove just after 7pm last night after a member of the public reported cries for help.
A spokesman for Falmouth Coastguard said white flares were used to illuminate the area to help locate the woman.
A team on top of the cliff were able to find the bodyboarder.
The spokesman added: “The lady was extremely fortunate, she had just disappeared under the water when the lifeboat reached her and pulled her out.”
The woman, who is believed to be a local, was “shaken and cold” when checked by paramedics, but sustained no injuries.
