A BODMIN man who stole drugs from the rehabilitation centre he was staying at and smashed in the window of a camera shop has been jailed.
Jake Rossi, 32, of Harmer Close, was staying at Bosywns treatment centre, near Hayle, in April when he broke into the medical centre and took a large quantity of drugs destined to be used by patients there, Truro Crown Court heard on Thursday.
Rossi then left the centre with his loot but was arrested two days later and found to have number of pills on him.
Piers Norsworthy, for the CPS, said that Rossi had been given a community order by Bodmin Magistrates on April 16 for that and a series of thefts, which he then breached in July when he smashed the window of Clemens Photography on Fore Street in Bodmin.
Mr Norsworthy used a hammer and made off with up to £1,000 of photographic gear, most of which was later recovered, the court heard.
Barry Hilliard, for the defence, said Rossi had a long record of thefts but had never been to jail before and that his offending was related to his addiction to drugs.
Rossi was jailed for six months for each burglary to a total of 12 months and ordered to pay a £100 victim surcharge.
