A MOTORCYCLIST has suffered a “serious life-changing injury” in a collision with a car on the A3059 near St Columb this afternoon.

The man was airlifted to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro following the accident, which happened at around 3.45pm at the junction with Newquay Road.

The road is currently closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area while emergency services manage the scene.

A police spokesman said: “A car was in collision with a motorcycle on the A3059 at the junction with Newquay Road in the St Columb area. The young male motorcyclist has sustained a serious life changing injury.”

    So tragic, my thoughts are with him and his family. Please folks take a second look before you pull out of a junction, we have as much right to get home to our families in one piece as you car drivers do....
