Another housing scheme is refused

PLANs for more than 150 homes in Falmouth, including 59 affordable houses, have been refused by Cornwall Council.

The plans for 153 homes at Bickland Water Road in Falmouth – submitted by Midas Commercial Developments – were turned down by the west sub-area planning committee meeting on yesterday.

A council spokesman said: "The reasons given by the proposer for wishing to refuse the application were that the proposed development occupied a large prominent site on the edge of Falmouth which would also erode the green space separating Budock Water from Falmouth and would thereby harm the character and appearance of the area. It would also result in the loss of high grade agricultural land."
