THE Backroom Blues Sessions are in action on Friday for more Juke Joint blues at the Admiral Benbow.

The evenings is to be run as a structured blues jam night with a house band, special guests and opportunities for blues musicians to come and jam. PA, mics, etc, all provided.

The team from the Music Box Penzance sponsor the event, provide the sound engineering and kit and the audience provides the dancing and atmosphere. Ben Richards, from the Music Box, said: "The last event was a big hit so we are looking forward to an even bigger crowd and more fun this time."

The evening will kick off at 8.30pm with the house band and then visiting musicians are invited to join in, followed by special guests and an end of evening jam. There's plenty of room to dance and lots of tables and chairs for those who just want to relax and listen. If you want to play put your name down on the list when you arrive or e-mail contact@backroom-blues-sessions.com before May 9. Entrance is free but a beer-sized donation is encouraged.
