BARCLAYS bank staff rolled up their sleeves to help the local boys brigade to give its storage container a makeover.

A team of five employees from the bank’s mortgage advice team transformed the storage container for 1st Redruth Boys Brigade (BB) Company, which meets at the Methodist Church in the town.

Mike Semmens, captain of the 1st Redruth BB, said: “The container refurbishment project has now acquired a new lease of life and it looks amazing.

“It will be used extensively by our young people and will ensure that all their money raising efforts for equipment and sports gear can now remain dry and secure.”

The £800 funds for the repainting and repairs were raised from a sponsored walk by the 36 members.

The 18 younger members walked a mile around Gwennap Pit and the 18 older members walked around the Lizard Peninsula.
