Cornwall's Pirate FM have announced that nominations are open for their Local Heroes Awards, and are on the lookout for the County's unsung heroes.
Now in it's fourth year, Cornwall's Local Heroes Awards in association with Specsavers are an opportunity to recognise those that make our communities great.
There are a total of 14 categories, including Boss of the Year, Emergency Services Awards, and Teacher of the Year.
Last year, Mount Hawke's Ernie Bowser was given the Good Neighbour Award for his work with the elderly in the area. Meanwhile inspirational Natty Goleniowska was named Cornwall's Child of Courage or Acheivement, and Dan Jarvis from the National Seal Sanctuary was given the Environmental Award.
The winners will be invited to a special ceremony at The Eden Project in April.
Nominations, and a full list of categories are online at www.piratefm.co.uk/heroes. Nominations close on 16 March 2014.
