A WOMAN who has been affected by the hair-loss illness alopecia since the age of five is hosting a support group.
Michelle Chapman, who runs the UK Alopecia Awareness Charity, hopes the hear from others who have experienced hair loss.
Her 12-year campaign to raise awareness of the condition has seen her design her own range of wigs and appear on various TV programmes.
The 40-year-old from Plympton has recently been travelling the country working with alopecia and cancer patients and teaming up with support groups in Newcastle and Wales.
She said: "I have taken over the Alopecia Awareness Charity and am keen to get the message out to anyone who is experiencing hair loss.
"I know many people in Plymouth and the surrounding areas will have been diagnosed and need help, advice and support."
Anyone interested in attending the support group can contact Michelle on 07890 246398.
