A PORTSCATHO driver whose car was in collision with another in the nearby village of Gerrans told Truro magistrates she had no recollection of the incident.

Jennifer Pascoe-Price, aged 76, of Garden Place, The Square, Portscatho, admitted careless driving and failing to stop after an accident.

Alison May, for the prosecution, said Pascoe-Price drove into the path of another vehicle, striking it on the front wing, and had then driven off.

The defendant, who had no previous convictions, told the magistrates that had she realised she had committed the offence she would have done something about it. "I know the law and would have stopped immediately," she added. Sensors on the front of her car had not reacted, she said.

Pascoe-Price was fined £130 with £90 costs and surcharge.
