ICE and hail storms caused chaos on the A30 this morning after several accidents due to the tricky conditions.

The A30 around Victoria/Roche was partially blocked in both directions due to two accidents, the first after a silver Mercedes car hit the central barrier during a hailstorm at 6.30am.

No injuries were sustained but there were long delays with police at the scene escorting traffic.

The road was also partially blocked westbound in the same area after an incident involving a smart car due to hail and ice.

One lane was also closed on the A30 eastbound at Bodmin between Callywith and the Cardinham turn off after another accident at 6.45am.

Icy conditions caused a car to hit the central reservation before it was hit by another vehicle whilst stationary. No injuries were sustained.
