Whenever there are adverse weather conditions there is an increase in road "accidents" many of them on perfectly good roads. Whatever happened to "driving according to the conditions"? I am appalled by the number of people I see speeding in driving rain/fog etc. They are accidents waiting to happen but for some reason they don't see it.
