Thousands of residents across Cornwall are without power tonight after the gruelling storms.
The storms have devastated Cornwall with more than 5,400 homes without power tonight, according to Western Power.
Western Power has got workmen out in force repairing the cables throughout Cornwall.
John Hulme, a spokesman for Western Power said: “We have lots of staff working on this problem that is causing peoples’ electric to be off.
“We have brought extra staff in but it is difficult given the current conditions.
“It’s difficult to say when the power will be restored because the conditions are difficult but we are doing all that we can.
“I think it’s effecting most of Cornwall but possibly the southern half is worst affected.
“The major cause of the problem are the storms.
“We are doing as much as we can to restore the power as quickly as possible.”
The Met Office have issued amber warnings throughout Cornwall until Saturday with gale force winds and intermittent heavy rain.
